Molly's Shebeen, located at 287 Third Avenue in New York City, is celebrated as one of the city's most authentic Irish pubs. Established as a bar in 1895, the venue transformed into a grocery store during Prohibition and reverted to a bar in the mid-1930s. In 1964, the Purfield family from Dublin and Galway redesigned it in a Tudor style and named it Molly Malone's, after a popular Irish folk song. Later, in 1991, Peter O'Connell from County Meath took over, renaming it Molly's Shebeen—a term for an illegal drinking establishment. The bar retains its original Honduran mahogany construction and a wood-burning fireplace, enhancing its cozy atmosphere. Patrons can enjoy traditional Irish and American fare, including shepherd's pie, corned beef and cabbage, and fish and chips. Molly's Shebeen continues to be a beloved spot for both locals and visitors seeking an authentic Irish pub experience in the heart of Manhattan
